The Beginning
Netball in Beaudesert – from the beginning.
In 1977, after enjoying playing netball at school, 2 young girls Miss Ingrid Fechner and Miss Elizabeth Collins, saw the need for women’s sport in Beaudesert. They took it upon themselves to write a letter to the then Qld Netball Associations President Mrs Deidri Hyland asking for assistance and guidance in starting up a netball club.
Formation
On the 7th November 1977 a meeting was held at the Girl Guide Hall and the Beaudesert Netball Club was formed. 5 teams travelled to the Logan and Albert Netball Association to play in night fixtures and in 1978 3 junior teams played in day season.

Fun Facts
The very first AGM of the Beaudesert Netball Club was held on 15th November 1978 with President: Gwen Burgess, Vice President: Linda Goeldner, Secretary: Margaret Fechner, Treasurer: Jenny Whitfield, Committee Members: Nancy Moss, Patricia Panitz and Susan Ludwig.
Did you know…
The first netball carnival held in Beaudesert took place at the Beaudesert State High School on 17th September 1978 and included 20 teams from St Mary’s, Beaudesert State Primary School, Rathdowney, Beaudesert State High School, Greenbank Netball Club and Beaudesert Netball Club.
